I have the katzOptics screen - it works very well with manual lenses. They said at KatzOptical that it was rather complicated to replace the screen in the Digilux 3 so they do not sell the screen for manual installation. - though seeing the pictures Reily linked it does not seem too complicated for the average person with a steady hand and the right tools.

FYI, I ordered (and paid for!) one of these back in January and it has yet to arrive here in the U.S. ... worse still, several emails to the seller have failed to achieve a response. I'm beginning to think I've been ripped off ... fortunately, it wasn't for a lot of money.

was it paypal

they will chase it up

Yes, it was, and No, they won't ... at least not if you wait longer than 45 days to file a complaint, as I foolishly did.

However, the bank that issues the credit card I used allows 60 days from the statement date to contest a charge so I can deal with it through them instead.

Did I ever mention how PayPal sucks?

just a few points Jeffrey, this was with VirtualVillage right ?

you should have moved on it earlier

i had an issue with a laser printer i bought over the new year period for $70

the guy had a good record, but as soon as the deal went down it became apparent he was up to no good

selling stolen laptops, goods not arriving, not answering calls etc

i complained to paypal when i got no answers after a 14 day wait

i had my money back in less than 10 days

I don't want this to come across the wrong way and all, but I've been awfully busy so far this year (I'll likely hit 900 billable hours by the end of this month ... yikes!) and under those circumstances, it's awfully easy to convince yourself to put off dealing with a ~$40 matter for another hour/day/week.

On the positive side, though, while PayPal wouldn't accept my complaint, they did forward a copy of it to the seller and they contacted me this afternoon about making things right. So, with a bit of luck, it will all work out in the end. Lesson learned, I hope...
