M9reno Posted February 17, 2013 Share #1 Posted February 17, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) Having just received a SDOOG quick-release from a well-known dealer, I am disappointed to discover my copy of this simple little accessory seems to be malfunctioning. The spring inside the locking axle (on which I assume the mechanism depends) is unresponsive, so the axle lock is permanently in the open/release position, with no amount of pulling capable or re-extending it. I'd be grateful if anyone could recommend a simple fix, short of sending this back to the seller. Hard to believe it would be sold unchecked, but there you go... Many thanks in advance. sabears Posted February 17, 2013 Share #2 Posted February 17, 2013 At this point, sending this back is better, IMHO:mad:...
SideB Posted February 18, 2013 Share #3 Posted February 18, 2013 The danger with fiddling about with it is that if you can't fix it the dealer could refuse to accept the return on the grounds that you have been fiddling with it. Better to return it and ask him to repair it. It can't be a difficult job if you have access to the right tools.
M9reno Posted February 18, 2013 Author Share #4 Posted February 18, 2013 It's going back. A pity for such a simple item, but its price makes the DIY option prohibitive.
M9reno Posted February 28, 2013 Author Share #5 Posted February 28, 2013 Update: no repair of the SDOOG was possible, so was refunded. Surprising for such a simple item, when only a spring was broken, but apparently there was no way to get to it.
