Another dead D2...

As I reported in an earlier message my LC1 recently died on me with what I thought was sensor failure.

The good news is that it has been returned to me within 3 weeks from Bigston (the Panasonic Repair Center) - repaired free of charge. Needless to say I am chuffed. Thought other LC1 owners out there would like to know that Leica's not alone in delivering good service.

Don't really know if it was the sensor - the invoice merely states 'replaced Part # VEKOF72' - description - 'NR PC BD'. I'm guessing that means a printed circuit board rather then the sensor - or is that one and the same?

Per Panasonic's Online Parts site, "VEKOF72" is the $382.13 circuit board for the sensor:

Mine's in for the same problem. The repair order quotes no charge.

Does anyone know if the replacement sensor is of better quality than the failed one? I don't want to go through this agan.

Thanks,

Jon

How many exposures have people taken prior to seeing this problem? Touch on wood, I haven't seen any such malfunctioning problems with the sensor on mine...just yet. But I seem to be anticipating that this will eventually happen with the increasing frequency of such posts by our other members.
