terrycioni Posted March 26, 2007 Share #1 Â Posted March 26, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Greetings. Â Just wondering if anyone is using the 90mm Macro Elmar with the adapter on the M8. I guess the other question is can one use this lens without the adapter on the M8? Â Cheers. Terry. roubaix Posted March 26, 2007 Share #2 Â Posted March 26, 2007 Yes. I use the 90 in both circumstances and I love it. Super compact tele. Nothing to compare it with, however. Â Peter
marknorton Posted March 26, 2007 Share #3 Â Posted March 26, 2007 Me too. My only gripe is the lens hood - it's of the type that reverses over the lens but in use, it makes the lens as big as the 90/2.8 which defeats the compactness somewhat. gtmerideth Posted March 26, 2007 Share #4 Â Posted March 26, 2007 Terry, Â The 90 and the adapter are much easier to focus, IMHO, than my viso probably due to my old eyes. And my success rate is much higher with the 90/adapter. I was lucky and found a mint but used combo and the 90/4 gives the 90/2.8 elmarit a good run. The biggest limitation is the range or image size of 1:3 at a maximum that can be obtained. It demands some creativity. Â To me, it is a prctical partial solution but the SLR macro lens still reigns. g.
