alred Posted January 26, 2013 Share #1 Posted January 26, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) I am sure this question has been answered on the forum but I can not seem to find it. From time to time the center focus point will go from green to white, lighting conditions don't seem to matter,by removing the battery seems to fix the problem for a while.I never know when its going to do it...it is quite annoying. Is this a know issue,or do I have a problem with my camera. Thanks so much. Best to all.
Advertisement Posted January 26, 2013 Posted January 26, 2013 Hi alred, Take a look here X2 focus problem. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Manashu Posted January 26, 2013 Share #2 Posted January 26, 2013 I'm not sure if this is the same problem. This one (not regularly!!) occurs when I want set the white balance using the menu for changing WB. When the camera measures the "new" white it freezes and you have to remove the battery to start over.
wda Posted January 26, 2013 Share #3 Posted January 26, 2013 I have not experienced this phenomenon on my X1. If there is a focusing problem, you do not get focus confirmation light-up.
alred Posted January 27, 2013 Author Share #4 Posted January 27, 2013 To be clearer pressing the shutter halfway I get a green confirmation square, then the green focus point turns white when I attempt to take the picture shutter will not release. Taking out the battery out for a moment will correct the problem until it decides to do it again. Thanks
andystac Posted January 27, 2013 Share #5 Posted January 27, 2013 Just a guess but maybe try reinstalling the firmware

I also suspect it isn't focusing quite on target in some cases. I wonder if the two problems are related. Brent
Chuck Albertson Posted March 8, 2013 Share #7 Posted March 8, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) I've had that happen with an X2 a couple of times, but I never had to do a batt pull to clear it.Since I switched to the facial-recognition focusing (inspired by John Kennerdell's post The Online Photographer: The Liberated Camera: Part II) I haven't experienced it at all. It's pretty agressive about locking on and tracking faces, a bit "Top Gun"-ish ("I've got a tone! I'm taking the shot!") that way, but I've had a higher percentage of keepers with it. alred Posted March 14, 2013 Author Share #9 Posted March 14, 2013 An update to my earlier post....after reinstalling the firmware twice it seemed like it was focusing ok,but no it stared again in good light (outdoors) then started working ok again on its own.So now my Leica X2 is off to Leica Camera NJ we shall see what they say.In my opinion a camera with this price tag should not be doing this, love the camera though. Best to all.
JDFlood Posted March 16, 2013 Share #10 Posted March 16, 2013 Mine does occasionally turns white. Reason unknown. I just assumed it was a mode I did not understand, never stopped the camera from working properly. JD
therbert Posted March 16, 2013 Share #11 Posted March 16, 2013 Mine does occasionally turns white. Reason unknown. I just assumed it was a mode I did not understand, never stopped the camera from working properly. JD I've had this happen on my X2 and thought it was something I didn't understand. Maybe someone at Leica can tell us why this happens.
