rob_x2004 Posted March 24, 2007 Share #1 Â Posted March 24, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Or the f/5.6 so that you can peek when looking through the viewfinder or do you just rely on feeling where you are? I find I bump the aperture ring quite a bit so unless I rack round from full open or full closed I lose my place and have to look to find my place before I bring the camera up to eye. Advertisement Posted March 24, 2007 Posted March 24, 2007 Hi rob_x2004, Take a look here Anyone f/stop mark their M barrels?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
BillBrittain Posted March 26, 2007 Share #2 Â Posted March 26, 2007 Two of my CV lenses (35/2.5 and 40/1.4) have little tabs on the aperture ring. When the aperture is mid-range the tabs are centered. I can't tell precisely where I am without looking but I will certainly know if something has been bumped. Â I like the tabs. Are there any Leica lenses that have them?
alexz Posted March 30, 2007 Share #3 Â Posted March 30, 2007 No probelm for me with that, so far...(albeit shooting Leica just a mere of 2 months, 10-15 rolls in total yet)... Since first I meter (or guess) the exposure and set it on my M6, I always aware of my initial aperture (and shutter) settings. And while setting the exposure, I tend to adjust it for a DOF-desired aperture. Then, if I think I need to alter the working aperture, I usually play within a stop, stop and half so, bearing half-stop clicks I aways know where I am.... no need to soil the lens barrel...
