k-hawinkler Posted January 8, 2013 Share #2 Posted January 8, 2013 Interesting! In New York? Of course, I have seen horses around Central Park. The horse looks well cared for, including the hooves. I hope it didn't have to wait for too long, tied up like that. Nice B&W. Thanks.
pauledell Posted January 8, 2013 Share #3 Posted January 8, 2013 Steve, A fine shot of that wonderful steed. I just hope there are no horse thieves in NYC. Paul
roguewave Posted January 8, 2013 Share #4 Posted January 8, 2013 Steve, this is great. Very telling shot of the life of these poor animals. The Stables have been in shambles for years. Back in the mid 80's I did some riding in Central Park. A Professor I worked with had 2 horses and we would ride just before dawn. Those days are long gone. sblitz Posted January 9, 2013 Author Share #6 Posted January 9, 2013 thanks all .... and yes these animals are really treated as such. i knew some people at the aspca at one time and they were in constant battle with the city to try to shut down the horse drawn carriage. they got a lot rules changed to their credit. this particular stable was just across the street from the Javits center, took this picture after leaving the photoplus show.
