Les_Sismore Posted January 2, 2013 Share #1 Posted January 2, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) The i.Resolution option in the Rec menu (P, A, S, M, etc modes) appears to apply edge sharpening to jpeg images in the camera. As the four i.Resolution options (Off, Low, Standard, High) are also available when only Raw images are recorded, does this mean that some pre-processing of Raw files can be performed in the camera before they are stored on the SD card? If so, are aliased artifacts likely if Raw=>DNG files recorded with i.Resolution active are also sharpened in say LightRoom? Cheers, Les_Sismore

wda Posted January 4, 2013 Share #2 Posted January 4, 2013 Welcome to the forum, Les! I have its predecessor so cannot answer accurately. But I doubt that the raw file is touched in camera unless you are only recording raw and not Raw+jpeg. Then only the version produced to show on the LCD would be subject to in-camera processing. I am surprised it shows as an option. Otherwise you would not be be collecting purely raw data.
