Paul Hart Posted January 1, 2013 Share #1 Â Posted January 1, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) Assume auto ISO is engaged, with max ISO set to 6400. Â In aperture priority mode, the shutter now defaults to 1/30th. This is often too slow for my purposes. Â So, my work-around is: engage shutter priority mode at (say) 1/125th. The camera chooses the ISO. However, it now defaults to f2.8 which is sometimes too wide. It will choose f2.8 even when the camera selects (eg) ISO400 - so it could have chosen a higher ISO with a smaller aperture, while retaining acceptable IQ. Â Would it be useful to have a mode in which both shutter and aperture are set by the user, and the camera adjusts ISO to produce a properly exposed image? Is there any way to do this as it is? Â Thanks for your thoughts.

davidfung Posted January 3, 2013 Share #2 Â Posted January 3, 2013 Not that I am aware of. I want the same thing. Auto ISO only works when in A or S priority.
quan00 Posted January 4, 2013 Share #3 Â Posted January 4, 2013 I searched the forum and there is a thread out there where a couple of people said that this was done be design. If the X2 is in full manual mode, then it will require the photographer to also set the ISO also (Auto ISO will be disabled).
HemingwayJones Posted January 10, 2013 Share #4 Â Posted January 10, 2013 I have learned to set my ISO. That is the key. Otherwise the camera just increases it to its liking. I only put it on auto at night and very low light. Works for me!
