Your Old Dog Posted December 31, 2012 Share #1 Posted December 31, 2012 Advertisement (gone after registration) Mods, feel free to move it to where ever. Some time ago I mentioned that I had bought an Epson 4900 Pro printer but hadn't used it and was worried about how long the ink would last. Well, it's a "used" printer now! Someone said I wouldn't belive how much additional information was on the print that wasn't on the digital computer display. NO KIDDING! I was flabbergasted on how great my images looked once run to the printer. My ink concern was for not. After setting some 2 years still in the plastic sleeves in an upstairs unheated/air conditioned bedroom all colors worked fine. It was a concern of mine since each of the 11 cartridges cost $100.00 each and I can't find any discounts on them! One last thing. I love H U G E prints. After using a cheap Spyder monitor calibrator and also got one for the printer I find my prints are beautiful. I am finally getting the B&W prints that I have wanted for so long. I think someone said the Epson 4900 was particularly good on B&W? I bought a large mat cutter and build furniture for a hobby so I'll be making frames and doing some of my images up. I would like to mount up a show and see if I can't get my work shown in area banks. Not necessarily looking to make money on prints but would just like to have my work seen. I don't display on this forum much because I shoot Leica and Canon and much of my work is on the SLR which of course won't pass muster here on the forum. Anyway, thanks for the encouragement months ago, my dream of decorating our home and cottage with prints I've made is coming true. Happy New Year to all !!
