Advertisement Posted December 21, 2012 Posted December 21, 2012 Hi Rick, Take a look here Leica S - "The Best Camera in the World". I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
marknorton Posted December 24, 2012 Share #2 Posted December 24, 2012 Predictable comments in response along the lines of "I have a XXXX and IT is the best camera in the world, the Leica cannot possibly be". I especially liked the comment from someone that he spends less on his trucks (pickup trucks, I assume) thank this camera costs. He obviously travels in style. My own brief exposure (pardon the pun) to this camera (S2) showed that the image quality was outstanding, much better than I see from an M or my Nikons but that the relatively slow handling was not for me. I think a camera with the IQ of the S and the speed and handling of a big Nikon would be a winning combination.
albertknappmd Posted December 24, 2012 Share #3 Posted December 24, 2012 Mark- That was an accurate point in regards to the S2. I recently handled the S, courtesy of David Farkas, and the improvements are impressive. The S2-S are in a true class of their own. Cheeers, Albert :)
Rick Posted December 24, 2012 Author Share #4 Posted December 24, 2012 I went to a Leica event a couple years ago and got to shoot the S2 in a studio with a model and thought the images were the best I've seen from any 35mm-like camera system. I did not notice it was slow. Maybe, if I used it longer I would have noticed.
sblitz Posted December 26, 2012 Share #5 Posted December 26, 2012 perhaps the model helped the time pass
Rick Posted January 1, 2013 Author Share #6 Posted January 1, 2013 Actually, I brought my daughter with me and I asked if she could be the model for my turn with the camera. The real model stepped out and I shot my daughter with the S2 while she had fun being a fashion model.
