AlanJW Posted December 14, 2012 Share #1 Posted December 14, 2012 Advertisement (gone after registration) The latest Adobe Camera Raw includes support for "Leica M-E" as well as multiple Leica R lenses. I don't know why would they need to include M-E when its innards are the same as M9. The support for R lenses is good news for those planning to use them on M 240. Hopefully there will be a M 240 profile soon (I did say "hopefully").
Advertisement Posted December 14, 2012 Posted December 14, 2012 Hi AlanJW, Take a look here Camera Raw 7.3 and "Leica M-E". I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
mjh Posted December 14, 2012 Share #2 Posted December 14, 2012 The new M is already supported by Lightroom and ACR; profiles will have to wait until the camera is ready.

swamiji Posted December 17, 2012 Share #4 Posted December 17, 2012 Other than "R" lens profiles, there is nothing new for Leica users. I don't get why "Leica M-E" is mentioned... Does this mean they support Green M9s like they supported Black/Grey/Chrome/Titanium/etc. M9s before.
sandymc Posted December 17, 2012 Share #5 Posted December 17, 2012 Other than "R" lens profiles, there is nothing new for Leica users. I don't get why "Leica M-E" is mentioned... Does this mean they support Green M9s like they supported Black/Grey/Chrome/Titanium/etc. M9s before. Within Lightroom/ACR, there is a difference between support for a generic DNG and a camera that LR/ACR recognizes. For a recognized camera, LR/ACR overrides a number of the DNG parameters (e.g., the color matrixes, BayerGreenSplit, noise parameters, etc) with optimized settings. So pre M-E support, LR would have loaded the image and displayed it, as it would for any valid DNG, but with the M-E support, it loads the image with optimized raw conversion parameters. In this case, probably all that means is that Adobe set up LR/ACR recognize the camera name, and use the same settings as it would for an M9 Sandy
