jimk2000 Posted December 13, 2012 Share #1 Posted December 13, 2012 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi. I am new to the forum. I am new to owning Leica products. I have a V-Lux 3 (which I know is made by panasonic). But my question is I have an offer to buy an X-1 in like new condition. However, all the accessories are missing. Seems the box was accidently pitched and along with it the cap, strap, software, cables user guide and anything else that came with it except it does have the charger and battery. They want $800 for it. Looks like it was never used. Would I be missing anything without the accessories? Thanks.

Thanks. seems like a good deal. you can find X1s all day long for around $1k with all the original packaging, accessories, etc....but if you're the type who doesn't care about things i say buy it for $800 and run! if you look around online, you can probably find most of those things (cap, strap, etc) and buy them separately. Ecaton Posted December 14, 2012 Share #3 Posted December 14, 2012 Check with Leica whether the seller is registered as the owner with them. A naked X1 is unusual and could have fallen off a truck (in NJ as the saying goes;).
bill Posted December 14, 2012 Share #4 Posted December 14, 2012 Personally, I wouldn't touch it with a barge pole. Regards, Bill
symmetron Posted December 14, 2012 Share #5 Posted December 14, 2012 +1 Something's fishy here. Buy a used one from someone with all of the accessories.

Anvil1971 Posted December 14, 2012 Share #7 Posted December 14, 2012 Advertisement (gone after registration) I guess there is something wrong. Nobody would throw away such a beautiful packaging and also the other accesories. Be careful and check if the Camera is registered to the seller. Virginia Bill Posted December 15, 2012 Share #8 Posted December 15, 2012 The X1/X2 packaging is lovely, and I wouldn't buy a used one without it. But I'm not on a tight budget. $800 is $100-$200 under the current market rate for a used X1. It's a good buy. The chance that the packaging was thrown away is greater than the chance that the camera is stolen. Stuff happens, and the larger world isn't as meticulous about camera boxes as Leica folks (even relatively sane Leica folks).
jimk2000 Posted December 19, 2012 Author Share #9 Posted December 19, 2012 I took the advice and passed on the camera which is just as well as I found another X-1 in excellent shape with the box and all accessories for only $60 more.
Virginia Bill Posted December 22, 2012 Share #10 Posted December 22, 2012 Good for you. $860 is an excellent price.
