Hi. I am new to the forum. I am new to owning Leica products. I have a V-Lux 3 (which I know is made by panasonic). But my question is I have an offer to buy an X-1 in like new condition. However, all the accessories are missing. Seems the box was accidently pitched and along with it the cap, strap, software, cables user guide and anything else that came with it except it does have the charger and battery. They want $800 for it. Looks like it was never used. Would I be missing anything without the accessories? Thanks.

seems like a good deal. you can find X1s all day long for around $1k with all the original packaging, accessories, etc....but if you're the type who doesn't care about things i say buy it for $800 and run!

if you look around online, you can probably find most of those things (cap, strap, etc) and buy them separately.

The X1/X2 packaging is lovely, and I wouldn't buy a used one without it. But I'm not on a tight budget. $800 is $100-$200 under the current market rate for a used X1. It's a good buy. The chance that the packaging was thrown away is greater than the chance that the camera is stolen. Stuff happens, and the larger world isn't as meticulous about camera boxes as Leica folks (even relatively sane Leica folks).
