hjernemadsen Posted March 21, 2007 Share #1  Posted March 21, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) In order to assure myself:  Which of the folloving statements (if any) are wrong?  1) If you use IR filters on a 28MM lens and a (colour) film Leica you will experience the cyan corners.  2) If you use IR filters on a 28MM lens and a BLACK AND WHITE film Leica you will NOT experience any apparant side effects  3) If you use IR filters on a 50MM lens and a (colour) film Leica you will experience approximate the SAME amount of cyan corners as compared to a 35 mm lens with IR filter on a M8  4) If you use IR filters on a 75MM lens and a (colour) film Leica you will NOT experience the cyan corners.  Sincerely  Peter
Advertisement Posted March 21, 2007 Posted March 21, 2007 Hi hjernemadsen, Take a look here Which of the folloving statements are wrong?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
carstenw Posted March 21, 2007 Share #2 Â Posted March 21, 2007 2 may be wrong in some situations. Since the cyan colour is actually caused by some red being filtered out, in a red picture, you would get extra-dark corners, due to some missing red, for example. Â I don't know if 4 is right. Sure, there is hardly anything happening with corners on a tele lens, wrt. IR, but expecting nothing at all may overstate it. I guess some testing would straighten it out. I would try it, but my 60mm filter is not here yet.
