icemendicant Posted July 21, 2006 Share #1 Posted July 21, 2006 Advertisement (gone after registration) I have an opportunity to swap an M6 titanium which I am selling, for a Summilux 50 ASPH that is unused in the box, and purchased in July 2004. Does that date fit with when the new ASPH was released or is there an advantage in buying a new version now (apart from the 6-bit coding, I mean)? I was planning to buy this lens anyway, and a swap would be a good deal assuming the 50 lux ASPH available in 2004 is the same version as the one I can buy today. Your help is much appreciated. Thanks in advance, Dan

Thanks in advance, Dan Same version still since 2004. The only difference will be the coding, but what Leica represantations do thy will send back their lenses they have already in stock to have them converted to the new encoding. In my opinion an absolute correct decision. So go for it!
