blakley Posted March 22, 2007 Share #41 Â Posted March 22, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) You should have no trouble with cyan fringing on a 75mm lens - or a 50, for that matter.
Advertisement Posted March 22, 2007 Posted March 22, 2007 Hi blakley, Take a look here Favorite portrait lens suggestions?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
carstenw Posted March 22, 2007 Share #42  Posted March 22, 2007 Karen, I don't want to discourage the buy of the CV75, but a more normal price for a second-hand 75 Lux is about €1300, or about $1500. I know where they have two (1st gen. for €1100, and 3rd gen. (?) for €1750), if you want to ping me. I have a 1st gen. and prefer it to the 2nd/3rd generation. Before buying the CV75, you may want to ask Sean about it. So far, it seems like it may be sharper wide open (at f/2.5) than the Lux (at f/1.4), and I don't know if this is important for you, but it may mean that the "magic" of the Lux is not there, in case you wanted some of that. Eikonphoto Posted March 22, 2007 Author Share #43 Â Posted March 22, 2007 Carsten Thanks for the help. I may well be in touch again about that. Today I picked up a CV 75 with correct adaptor for 300.00 At that price I can experiment and see how that does for me. This would be purely meant as an in studio headshot style lens. I will give you my thoughts on it once I have given it a bit of a spin. Karen
carstenw Posted March 22, 2007 Share #44 Â Posted March 22, 2007 Okay, then for now I will pass the tip to someone else who has PMed me, but even so, I know where there are three in total at decent prices, so should you change your mind, there is likely to still be one left. mikelc Posted March 22, 2007 Share #45  Posted March 22, 2007 Karen....i also just bought the 75 cv after following this thread and in particular sean's comment about it..I love it..it draws beautifully on the m8 and for the price it's a no brainer...i don't know if it's as "good" as the the lux (my 50 lux is awesome) but if you check out the thread on the comparison between the cv 15 and the WATE you would be hard pressed to tell the difference between the 2 church files  ...in fact i wish the files weren't identified because i would bet just as many people would guess wrong as right as to which file was from the WATE...obvioulsy leica has the well deserved reputation that it does for its lenses but the cvs for a fraction of the cost are even more impressive in their own right...check out sean's reviews..he does indepth analysis comparisons...  mike  http://www.mikecetta.com
