dlux5 Issue with Dynamic BW export

Hello and welcome,

Did never experience precisely this, but incompatibilites between software and files happen. Did you update the cam's firmware? In doubt you could ask Leica and Apple support.

What I did see is that the aspect of tones, colours, image brightness can vary wildely between the camera's screen and a given computer's screen and even different programmes on the same machine (say apple preview and photoshop), depending on the colour space of the software(s).

And, as you probably know, if the D-Lux 5 records raw files alongside the jpegs, even in one of the b&w modes it will turn out a coulour raw file. Those can sometimes be totally off as far as white balance is concerned. If your version of iphoto reads those, they may look surprising.

Cheers,

Alexander

If you are shooting in RAW just change color temp in LIghtroom and the color will be fine then convert to B&W. If shooting in Jpeg the images should only be B&W.

You must be shooting in RAW and are seeing the color Leica uses to make the B&W more dynamic.
