petertucker48 Posted December 2, 2012 Share #1 Posted December 2, 2012 Advertisement (gone after registration) Sorry for silly question but how do you connect and transfer pics from my new D-Lux 5 to my iMac. Have connected the lead both ends but nothing shows on iPhoto when camera is switched on. With my Canon SD1000 and a Fuji what ever, all I had to do was fire up iPhoto plug in Canon, switch on Canon and it would show in iPhoto. The rest was up to me. the Leica instructions although very thorough in how to use the camera they are very vague on connecting to any computer and don't mention Apple at all. Can anyone help. Cheers

gshay Posted December 2, 2012 Share #3 Posted December 2, 2012 Take the card out of the D-Lux 5 and place in the slot on side of the iMac. Forget the cord. G-
Lee Martin Posted December 2, 2012 Share #4 Posted December 2, 2012 I always take the card out of my D Lux 4 and put it in a card reader then attach via the USB. That's with Aperture, but should be fine with IPhoto too.
NZDavid Posted December 2, 2012 Share #5 Posted December 2, 2012 With the cable: Connect cable from camera to USB computer socket, turn on camera, LCD shows "PC" highlighted, press central set button on camera, and camera icon appears on Mac desktop. Open icon, open DCIM and you will see 100LEICA folder. Drag and drop to desktop. Process takes a few minutes. Now you can use all sorts of programs to modify pictures. Lightroom is included. I also like Graphic Converter (Apple photo software - Mac picture editor, photo editor, image editor, graphics conversion). To import to iPhoto, open iPhoto, go file/import and select the recent photo folder. I suggest renaming and editing the original folder it as soon as possible, and storing on a separate hard drive. ajthornbury Posted December 3, 2012 Share #6 Posted December 3, 2012 I always use a card reader, they are not expensive, they plug into any USB computer port.
