johnbuckley Posted November 28, 2012 Share #1 Posted November 28, 2012 Advertisement (gone after registration) I am trying to submit in a competition some images taken with my Monochrom. The rules include my having to format the submission in greyscale, not sRGB. However, when exporting them from Lightroom, while I can easily find ways of sizing the images to their specs, I can't find a greyscale option. In Export, under File Settings, I find Color Space. But that just gives me the option of exporting the image in sRGB, AdobeRGB, or Pro Photo RGB. I'd appreciate any advice on what I need to do here. I suspect I need to have found a greyscale option earlier in the process, but can't find it in the Develop module. Thanks in advance for your advice. Advertisement Posted November 28, 2012 Posted November 28, 2012 Hi johnbuckley, Take a look here Advice on Greyscale, Not sRGB, in LR4 With Monochrom Files. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Jeff S Posted November 29, 2012 Share #2 Posted November 29, 2012 John, I don't believe LR has a true greyscale, i.e., single channel option, for export. Of course one can convert the image to greyscale (b/w), but it's still exported in RGB with 3 channels. I think you might need to use another program like PS if the requirements are that specific, but I'm not the expert here. Jeff Addendum...Found this discussion...seems ACR doesn't support single channel greyscale (per Victoria Bampton, who's a guru).
johnbuckley Posted November 29, 2012 Author Share #3 Posted November 29, 2012 Jeff - thanks so much. I'll go back to them and see what they suggest, or whether they've made a mistake in their requirements. I appreciate the reply. JB
