Advertisement Posted November 28, 2012 Posted November 28, 2012 Hi Guest NEIL-D-WILLIAMS, Take a look here Leica vs iPhone 5. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
skinnfell Posted November 28, 2012 Share #2 Â Posted November 28, 2012 Anyone who thinks the iPhone is a threat or competitor to leica, has clearly never seen a print from the M9 (or any other M for that matter). Â as the geek says: "If you have application designers who build applications to try to emulate high quality cameras, then you can use your smart phone instead of going out and buying high quality expensive equipment anymore." I rest my case. Â Leica will never be a mass market camera, nor has it ever been. There is not a sensible reason in the world why people would buy Porshes or Ferraris, yet they still do... Wonder why? Â PS: I like the way Schopf say "Haptics" instead of optics...
Lindolfi Posted November 28, 2012 Share #3 Â Posted November 28, 2012 PS: I like the way Schopf say "Haptics" instead of optics... Â He says "haptics" because he means "haptics". And he is right, an M agrees very well with experienced hands.
Lindolfi Posted November 28, 2012 Share #4 Â Posted November 28, 2012 We have gone through this item before, what mr. Gee says in the movie: the question if it is possible to emulate any characteristic of a lens and a sensor by software. And the answer is: in principle yes. But it would require a sensor that can capture a volume at high resolution behind an extraordinarly good lens and very extensive software. Â So if it is that difficult, why not use a camera that already has those nice characteristics in it, like a Leica M with a good lens. Â The other objection against that proposal is that even if emulation can be done indistinguisable from the original, you don't get the same process of making the image. And since the image depends on the process (in which "haptics" and motivation and vision play a role), you do not get the same image, even if technologically speaking you could. Messsucherkamera Posted November 29, 2012 Share #5 Â Posted November 29, 2012 Well of course an iphone beats a Leica camera and lens. Â And a microwave burrito beats fillet mignon and lobster tail. Â Douches.

I stand corrected.   don’t shoot the messenger........................ I was hinting towards the "expert" in the video, not you. Sorry for this!
