Rummy Posted March 22, 2007 Share #22 Posted March 22, 2007 I was scheduled to go to the NYC Saturday Workshop that was cancelled. My question to those who have attended one is, should I bring my Mac Poower Book laptop along or use the comuters supplied? I have all of my M8 pictures and C1 loaded in already. Guest guy_mancuso Posted March 22, 2007 Share #23 Posted March 22, 2007 Yes my idea's are for a little more advanced than the basics and really hands on with the instructor not just go shoot and come back, I go with you and work with that person. Reason I wanted small ones, like to do something completely different than the normal ones and really hands on. I need to get this together and do it, it would be a blast that is for sure
colorflow Posted March 22, 2007 Share #24 Posted March 22, 2007 Guy, I've been tempted to attend the National Geographic Workshop. But a similar workshop using Leica gear would be ideal. Their format is pretty good although 7 days is too long for me. Take a look if you haven't already. National Geographic Expeditions Alan
Guest guy_mancuso Posted March 22, 2007 Share #25 Posted March 22, 2007 The long workshops are tough to do , I tried to do one in Mexico and only had 4 folks for a full week and it would have not worked out correctly. Most folks can do 3 tops with a day or two off from work only and not a full vacation week that they would spend with their family. Maybe we jumped off topic here but it is good to talk about
colorflow Posted March 22, 2007 Share #26 Posted March 22, 2007 I think a 3 day workshop in Yosemite would be great. Alan

ggetzin Posted April 7, 2007 Share #28 Posted April 7, 2007 I attended the M8 Workshop in Chicago this week. Just being around the experienced photographers attending was great for me. The event seemed to be very well run. The first two hours or so were very basic on the functions of the camera, but still good to go over. Most of the day was on adjustments to and using Capture One and Photoshop. I suspect a few of the experienced people may have known most of the points offered. The majority seemed to be learning quite a bit. The workshop solved all of my download questions. A really good demonstration of calibration was given which impressed upon me the need for it. Macbooks, M 8's and calibraton equipment was provided. Gary Getzin, Wausau, Wisconsin
