there was a problem with the eye-fi card when used in an m9. it would get jammed in the sd-card slot &/or not transmit properly with the heavy metal baseplate fitted. that may be why they won't endorse it for leica. seems to work okie in an x1 though but like anything these days it's a bit trial & error.

okie, since my post above from 03/12, i've set up and been using a Pro/X2 Eye-Fi wi-fi 8gb card in an X2 & M9, plus I've also had a chance to see if it works briefly in an MM. once you've figured it out & set it up (you have to alter settings with a login to a computer each time you switch cameras), it works. i had no problems with the sd-card slots of each camera (some initially reported that it would get stuck but mine did not, multiple times) & when using it in the M9, I kept the ipad fairly close to the camera. you need to switch off "power-save" settings for both devices to keep it running smoothly and set jpg to "basic" to speed up file transfer. you can set the wifi card to transfer the jpg file only for speed of viewing & keep the dng+jpg file stored on the card. i found it's a little buggy with the M9 but works perfectly well with an X2, which is great if you want to wander around shooting with an ipad in your camera bag. i then set up my iphone as a mobile hotspot & emailed jpgs directly from the ipad (mine, wi-fi enabled only) using bluetooth. i did find that it slowed pace of working a little when wanting to discuss an image but setting jpg to basic helped plus being able to email something directly from site was useful. practice can also improve speed. carry a a spare battery.

I can confirm that the Eye-Fi Pro X2 8gb card works fine with the Leica X1 and X2, M9 with baseplate + MD Grip baseplate and S2, when connecting to Apple iPad v4. With the S2, the iPad can be in the next room and the files will transfer as long as you maintain a connection to the card. Competing WiFi such as a home network can cause conflicts with the connection.
