Can anyone confirm to me, just which UV/IR filter l should use with my v 1 MATE on the M8.

I had initially assumed that it would be the E55 version, but have since been told by a dealer that this is not so, and that l have to have a specific Tr-Elmar filter.

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Philip, I have the second version MATE, ie the one with the depth of field markings. Mine takes an E49 filter, though the UV/IR filter is only needed when using an M8 body. If coded, not only do you get the required optical corrections, but the actual focal length used shows in the EXIF data.

... which is correct for the original version of the Tri-Elmar-M 28-35-50 mm Asph. The later version takes E49 filters.

Seems your dealer is confusing it with the Tri-Elmar-M 16-18-21 mm Asph (a.k.a. WATE) which takes regular E67 filters on a special filter holder.
