Pike Place Market

Seattle, WA

M Monochrom

Zeiss 25/2.8 Biogon

I had the use of an M Monochrom this weekend. I can only hope this shot touches on the capabilities of the camera. Comments are greatly appreciated.

Best regards,

Bob

SInce you asked..the image looks fine technically but I might not be seeing what you are in it as far as any real point of interest other than a hand motion from one of the subjects. Not sure what you were trying to capture and maybe for your purpose it works but to me, it just doesn't 'pull' me in at all.

Hope this helps or has meaning to you.

Thanks Avatar & Kirk,

I appreciate your comments and Avatar is correct. Frankly, I was excited by the quality of the files coming from the MM and the relative lack of post processing they took.

Best regards,

Bob

Jay,

Thanks. I am sold as the MM is the best fit for what I want in a camera. I just need to figure out how to make it happen.

The Market is an endless source of images and experiences. This time of year is my favorite as the tourist crush associated with the cruise boats has subsided. It's a lot more relaxed. Even if shooting does not go well there are lots of buskers playing music, food stands to graze and coffee shops for the all important recharge!

Best regards,

Bob

Bob, I shoot with a MM as well and boy do I know the feeling of loving the image quality and the ease of processing the images. Glad you are enjoying yours!

I think you will continue to be amazed (as I am) about the image quality..In the images you posted, they look good but you will see much better for sure as you get more familiar with processing as well as using the camera.

Above the norm in tonal quality, sharpness and the guy whose garden grew that high (as his hand indicates). For the Leicaphite whose main interest is b&w, the MM looks like a wonderful camera.

Thanks Paul. I really enjoyed the use of the MM. It was a pleasure to use and felt very familiar to me...much like shooting with my MP. Sadly it was a loaner and I had to return it today. I did have second thoughts about handing it over to the salesman so I made a break for it. Damn if he didn't catch me at the door...

Best regards,

oh man, I couldn't have had that in my hands and given it back! It just gets better and even in the example you posted, you would see even better results very easily. Working with the files is intoxicatingly easy. I know the M9 is great but when I go back and work on images, I just miss the MM files...But I only shoot black and white..
