I'm looking for a small belt holder for my several M lenses I will be using in my urban photography. I already have an A&A Penn's Pad & Pencil Satchel but I'd like something where I could swap lenses even more quickly, such as a miniaturized version of the Think Tank Belt system http://www.thinktankphoto.com/ttp_product_Modulus.php

Any ideas?

TIA,

John

A small hip pouch could hold a couple of lenses, spare battery and cards. I found belt pouches attached to a regular belt pulled on the belt to much with even just one lens worth od weight. Here's a hip pouch with security features like hidden buckle and a stainless steel mesh so the pouch can't be slashed from front or below by a pickpocket:

Pacsafe

Several of the camera bag manufacturers make hip pouches as well.

I looked at EVERYTHING and bought Kinesis Photo Gear homepage [built for People -- On the Move] and am glad I did. Kinesis was the ONLY manufacturer that allowed me to buy small pouches for the smaller Leica lenses. All the others assume you tote around much larger DSLR junk. Kinesis is also highly configurable to meet your specific needs. I found them very responsive and supportive on the phone to boot.

Hank,

is the StashSafe 200 (or even 100) large enough to hold an M8 with a smallish lens attached (something like a CV 35/2.5, for example)?

Thanks,

Luca

Luca, You'll have to check the specs. I haven't used the stashsafe but I have used the steel mesh to secure photo equipment when traveling. I plan on picking up their carry on bag which does double duty as a room safe (the bag is enclosed in a steel mesh in the fabric). No defense against bolt cutters but effective against light fingered hotel employees and dash and grab types.

Billingham AVEA3s.

Combine with a couple of back to back lens couplers. I've used them for 1x135, 35 & 90, 50 & 35, etc.

Bill

The stashsafe 100 belt pack or waist pack (or fanny pack for out American friends) is about the same size as all regular sized waist packs (just over 2L internal volume). You could fit an M8 in one quite easily with a small lens. If you want to carry a few more items then the stashsafe 200 is the one to go for, its got a 7L internal volume so is really quite roomy.

They both have slashproof panels with steel mesh inside the fabric, steel cable in the belt and tamperproof locking zippers.

Pacsafe also make other bags which are great if you have a lot of gear you want to protect, the Daysafe 100 or the Duffelsafe 100 are both worth checking out.
