metalbernd Posted November 15, 2012 Share #1 Â Posted November 15, 2012 Advertisement (gone after registration) My question is, I now that the X serie had no weather sealing, but can it survive a soft rain? I never had cameras with no sealing before, so i am a bit worried.
Advertisement Posted November 15, 2012 Posted November 15, 2012 Hi metalbernd, Take a look here Leica x2 weather proof?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Steve Lane Posted November 15, 2012 Share #2 Â Posted November 15, 2012 Hi, Â When I purchased my X1 last winter, I took it out in rain and snow, but protected it under my coat from the worst of the weather. It did get wet but not drenched and continued to work fine. Â Having said that, it has recently been back to Leica for repair due to several electrical problems. I am not sure the problems were related to the bad weather exposure as the time between this and the problems developing was several months. Â I would not risk the camera in heavy rain as there are too many places for water ingress that are not environmentally sealed. I am sure that the X2 is similar to the X1 in this respect. Â Regards, Steve.
