sergiolov Posted March 18, 2007 Share #1 Posted March 18, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) A few days ago I found on ebay an adapter to fit Nikon lenses on Leica m, so I tested a little with resolution charts and made a few comparison shots. These are my initial findings: - Comparing images taken with the same nikon lens on d2x and m8, results with m8 are sharper, more detailed, crispier and with better colors. -Nikon lenses (17-35 2,8 28-70 2,8 55 3,5 micro nikkor) compared to summicron 35 asph and tri elmar 28-35-50 are clear winners in resolution, expecially on the corners. Shots to evaluate colors and general performance at infinity, with wide angles to 21 mm just guessing, and for target shots i prefocused the lenses with the d2x and than swapped them on the m8. Mark, difficoult to say. I prefer the M8 images, probably the bokeh of leica lenses is better,but corner resolution from the nikon lenses I tested is really outstanding... I have now decided to use the m8 with the micronikkor for my aerial work, at least for the assignements in which moirè is not a problem,because with leica lenses I always had problems in the corner of images.
