jlindstrom Posted November 1, 2012 Share #1 Â Posted November 1, 2012 Advertisement (gone after registration) So what's your preferred shooting mode with the X? D you go for aperture priority or full manual? Â I've just got mine and it's currently charging. But I did try it out a bit. I noticed the metering display is nowhere near as simple/easy as the one on M's is. So did you just learn to cope and go by with the idea that light usually doesn't change all that fast or do you let the camera take care of shutter? wda Posted November 1, 2012 Share #2 Â Posted November 1, 2012 My camera is normally set for aperture priority but I do not hesitate to move to manual determination most times. I prefer that to fiddling with EV adjustments which are all too easily forgotten with the next shots. I try to zero my settings at the end of a session so that adjustments just follow an established routine depending on subject and lighting. Â I am also an advocate of User Profiles which are somewhat easier to apply with my M9 than with the X1.
yanidel Posted November 2, 2012 Share #3 Â Posted November 2, 2012 Full manual in good light and outside. Â Speed priority with Auto Iso in low light and interiors. I usually set the shutter to 1/125th but will go down if needed.
Johanb Posted November 2, 2012 Share #4 Â Posted November 2, 2012 Full manual. If I'm stressed or uncertain about light Aperture mode. Â I've never shot any camera so much in manual mode as this one, it really begs to go manual.
metalbernd Posted November 2, 2012 Share #5 Â Posted November 2, 2012 When I have the time I use full manual and if there is a hurry I use A-mode(shutter).
robert blu Posted November 2, 2012 Share #6 Â Posted November 2, 2012 Aperture priority usual, with autofocus. Many times when I need a "quick" response I first focus my subject, than switch to manual focus, manual exposure and just shoot, until the light does not change. robert

But more often than not I shoot aperture preferred ( the 'camera' gets it correct 90%+ of the time)
