Nikon SB-400 on an M8??

Does anyone know if the new Nikon SB-400 would be compatable with the M8?

It looks like a great flash for the price and with it's small compact size and tilt head, it could be a great choice.

I've considered the SF24D but without a tilting head, it wouldn't work for me.

Thanks in advance,

Haven't tried it but the views expressed here before are that it doesn't work. It's expressly designed for the Nikon D40, so you can think of it as an extension to that camera's electronics. It might fire on a Leica but it's not clear that the camera could tell the flash the selected ISO to control the output.

We're all hoping that Leica will stop pretending the SF-24D is all they need and that Metz will learn the art of miniaturisation and give us a flash with a tilting head which integrates with the M8s TTL flash metering.

Mark,

I couldn't possible agree with you more.

I just can't use a flash that doesn't have a tilting head and while we all mostly shoot low light hand held without flash there are certain times where a flash would be very useful. Especially if they could ever figure out a way to fire it off camera like the Nikon system.

The possibilities would be endless.
