So, what are Mac users doing with their 10.4.9 folder images?

For those of you whose Finder previews have disappeared:

 

Try opening your folder full of generic-icon files. Make sure you have icon view, not list view.

 

In the screen's top menu bar, choose View--Show View Options, Check the preview button.

 

This sometimes gets unset during an update.

 

I'm a D3 shooter, so I don't have a folder full of M8 DNGs to test this on, but I've had the experience of losing my previews after a software update, and this fixed it in a few seconds.

I am trying to think of a work round so that I can see what I am dealing with, but without using the Finder.

 

Although I have Lightroom, I do prefer the colours rendered by Capture One, but the LE version is not only incredibly slow when using a folder with lots of RAWs, but also takes up a shed-load of space with it's previews. The folder almost doubles in size once C1 has done it's thing.

 

So, what are others doing?

 

iViewMedia Pro maybe?

 

I really hope Apple get this sorted sometime soon, but if their past performance with our needs in mind is anything to go by...

 

Looks like a compelling reason not to upgrade, which I won't. I was holding off because it will take several hours to upload here in the frozen north (satellites are slow). There may be problems with Capture NX and 10.4.9 too, long thread on DPR Mac Talk forum.
