Giulio Zanni Posted March 17, 2007 Share #1 Â Posted March 17, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hello, Â did anybody in Europe receive the free Leica UV/IR filters? Any news about when Leica starts to ship? I would have any important event coming up around mid-April and I really wouldn't like spending money on B+W filters while waiting for Leica to deliver. Â Thanks, Giulio

waterlenz Posted March 18, 2007 Share #3  Posted March 18, 2007 Surely, but we need new firmware too. Isn'true?.Lorenzo   FW 1.10 is needed for focal lengths less than 50mm. You can use the filters OK with the current firmware with FL ≥ 50mm. Tom
stunsworth Posted March 18, 2007 Share #4 Â Posted March 18, 2007 Even without the new firmware I would use the filters whenever possible.

FW 1.10 is supposed to refine the corrections for cyan cast and vignetting, but it already works reasonably well with 1.092.
Shootist Posted March 18, 2007 Share #8 Â Posted March 18, 2007 The question is DID anyone in Europe (Or for that matter anywhere), other then the in growd, receive the FREE Leica UV/IR filters yet. Not anything about firmware 1.10! Not anything about cyan cast with filters and firmware other then 1.10. Â Filter where supposed to start shipping in February, then on March 8 they siad they are starting to ship. That was 10 days ago.

carstenw Posted March 18, 2007 Share #10 Â Posted March 18, 2007 Not yet. Hopefully soon. I am in Berlin, and with my new old 75 Lux, my portrait lens, I am back to getting magenta skin, so I am really keen to get my 60mm filter.
MP3 Posted March 19, 2007 Share #11 Â Posted March 19, 2007 Some update from Far East here. Â I wrote several email to Solms M8 support team in last 2 weeks regarding when will I receive my registered IR/UV filters. Â My choice are 46mm and 49mm. Â They kept responding quite prompt to my email. Their latest response on Mar 13 however stated that it will not be available before the 18th calendar week, i.e. 1st week of May. Prompt cs response through very disappointing. Â I have a 3-week trip to Swiss and Italy, so I ordered spare ones in case Leica further delay on their filter delivery which is quite possible from their current trends.
