Can anyone point me in the right direction to find a CV 21D viewfinder. I have a 24 elmarit and would like to see 1) the framelines better and 2) not have so much right corner obstruction. Alternatively, would a 28mm or 35mm viewfinder be a reasonable compromise?

I had some problem framing the attached as I was just testing the lens in conjunction with the M8 and was missing some peripheral distractions. At the end of the day I can live without the viewfinder, but it means missing people walking in or out of frame to the right of shot.

Thanks,

Huw

What's a CV 21D viewfinder? If you need an external VF to go with the 24 Elmarit on an M8, then what you need is not 21 but 30-ish. I think CV (Voigtlander) makes a 35 VF. Also, why can't you use the M8 24 framelines? They leave you some space all around which should take care of the lens obstruction, at least in part.

Thanks Stephen. I'll give them a try, as well as the German distributor.

When I wear contacts it's not a problem, but when travelling I prefer glasses as then my eyes are less vulnerable to aircon. I was just looking for something as an easy fix, probably should also try a dioptre correcter. Only picked up the 24 today and found it suited my style better than the 28 'cron.

Olivier, it was a viewfinder to use with a 21mm lens on the Epson RD1. The RD1 had a crop factor of 1.6 or there abouts. So the angle of view of the viewfinder was equivalent to 21 x 1.6.

21 x 1.5 actually. I'd recommend CameraQuest.

Cheers,

Sean
