footnoteblog Posted March 15, 2007 Share #1 Â Posted March 15, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Don't have an example, but I made a portrait at 1250, and pointed up at tungsten source, without a IR filter (didn't ship in time -- where will I find a 55mm in Bangkok; anyone?) I rarely shoot like this with the slower 24 Elmarit. Firmware 1.092. Â Subtle band showed up; but since the abberation almost completely disappears when converting to B&W, I don't mind too much (everything went green with tung balance ! And yes, it was definitely all tungsten, not fluorescent.) I remember testing this earlier with 640, directly at a point source with no problems WITH a filter. Â So the question is, do I return the camera, or send it back, or not, when I get back? Thoughts? No other problems; in fact I've been so happy with the performance/lack of issues, I hesitate to do so because of this one sample.

Iron Flatline Posted March 15, 2007 Share #2 Â Posted March 15, 2007 No, it's the way things are. We all get it if it's pointed at a tungsten at the right angle and a high ISO. Just grin and bare it.
