philipus Posted September 11, 2012 Share #1 Â Posted September 11, 2012 Advertisement (gone after registration) The Wiki's entry for version II of the 50mm Summicron includes the 11819 twice in the list of serial numbers, for 1970 and 1973: Â 2385701 2387700 Summicron f= 5 cm 1:2 (black 11 819) 1970 2000Â 2583501 2585500 Summicron f= 5 cm 1:2 (black 11 819) 1973 2000 Â The 11819 Summicron is version III, which was manufactured from 1978 (Wiki). Â Did they really make the version III Summicron already in 1970/73? Â Do the version III Summicrons in these two batches look differently than the ones made from 1978 onwards? I am asking because the entry for version III states that lenses pre-1984 had focus tabs. Â Cheers and thanks Philip
