Shootist Posted March 14, 2007 Share #2  Posted March 14, 2007 Anyone here know when the WATE lens will be available in th US ? Thanks---  I have no idea. But when it does show at some dealers as in stock it won't last long. Just like the Elmarit 28mm f/2.8. I've been checking B&H everyday, a couple of times a day, for a month+ now for this lens. Just by chance I hit the B&H add in the upper right hand of this forum and wouldn't you know it the 28/2.8 was In Stock. I hit Add To Basket and checked out. Just for laughs I went back to the Leica Lens pages after checking out and it was Out Of Stock.  That is how you get one. I even signed up for Notify When In Stock and never received a email that it was in stock.
Englander Posted March 14, 2007 Share #3 Â Posted March 14, 2007 I bought mine through authorized USA Leica dealer. He has not received another since then. However, in mid-January my friend signed onto Tamarkin's no-deposit-required list for a WATE and it came in yesterday. You might check with them or at least get on their list. xrogers Posted March 14, 2007 Share #4 Â Posted March 14, 2007 Tamarkin is a good idea. They got me my M8 in November off their no-deposit list, even though I was way down the list (like number sixty---signed up in August, I think). Even if the list is long, sign up---they seem to get a lot of product, and some people decide not to buy when the item comes in... Â --clyde
