ian moore Posted September 1, 2012 Share #1 Posted September 1, 2012 Advertisement (gone after registration) I have an R9,about four years old. Recently, when taking a shot, the mirror has gone up and stuck. I then have to push again on the shutter release button to take the picture (the mirror then goes back down). I have checked the mirror up/down lever on the front of the camera body and it is in the down position. It seems that the camera is not recognising that the mirror lever is in the down position. In effect I therefore have to push the shutter release button twice to take a picture. It is an intermittent fault but becoming more regular. Any ideas or is it an expensive visit to Solms? Ian. Ian, that sounds by far the most likely explanation. The only suggestion I could make (and which you've probably tried already) is to actuate the switch a large number of times, just in case there's some crud in it. mann61 Posted September 1, 2012 Share #3 Posted September 1, 2012 I have,I think, the same problem:I wind on take maybe 10 shots perfectly, then the next shot the mirror stays up.I wind on again and all is fine. So,in a roll of 36 I will lose 2 or 3 shots. The only work around I've tried is to use the double exposure lever before winding on after the failure. I'm not sure if this brings the mirror down and thus not wasting a frame?
