algrove Posted August 17, 2012 Share #5 Posted August 17, 2012 It makes sense since just about every dealer I have seen in the last 6 months has a ton of M9/M9P camera body inventory in stock. The economic downturn certainly has hit the luxury camera market big time. A 12.5% price reduction is not a small amount. This decision only confirms what I have been thinking for 6 months or so. One dealer advertised buy an M9P for the price of an M9 one day and the next the offer disappeared from the web site. The Harrison direct web site shows the price of the M9 to be £4495. I wonder if that is the price you will be quoted if you did ask for a 'price on application' at one of the shops mentioned in the last post? swamiji Posted August 20, 2012 Share #10 Posted August 20, 2012 This price drop tells me several things 1) M10 is scheduled for Photokina. 2) M10 price will not be much higher than the M9P. 3) M9 will be discontinued when the M10 ships. 4) M10 rumors has slowed M9 sales.
