Tatlan Posted August 16, 2012 Share #4 Posted August 16, 2012 Question. Is there some way to unscrew the outer casing that houses the retractable lens? I saw someone do that on a YouTube video, but the speaker was German, so I didn't catch the reason why he was unscrewing that outer housing. Is that how you attach the lens barrel for close-up filters mentioned in several other posts? Thanks

Tatlan Posted August 16, 2012 Share #6 Posted August 16, 2012 I tried to do that, gently, but it won't budge. I wasn't sure if it's wound on clock-wise, or counter clock-wise. Since it's not covered in the manual, I didn't want to violate the warranty, just to satisfy my curiosity.
threeputt Posted August 16, 2012 Share #7 Posted August 16, 2012 Advertisement (gone after registration) It should come right off. Be sure you are unscrewing the correct piece, the piece that the lens cap snaps into. It unscrews counter-clockwise, just like a jar of jam, etc. Jeff
Tatlan Posted August 17, 2012 Share #8 Posted August 17, 2012 Bingo! It was a snap, once I had the confidence I wouldn't damage the lens housing by unscrewing the factory-tight fit. Thanks, Jeff
