Advertisement Posted August 11, 2012 Posted August 11, 2012 Hi walsham1, Take a look here Leica x1 viewfinders. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Spaniard69 Posted August 11, 2012 Share #2 Posted August 11, 2012 For X1, get a OVF. You can do a search here in these forum.
pvak Posted August 11, 2012 Share #3 Posted August 11, 2012 For the X1 you have essentially two choices. The Leica 36mm OVF or the Voigtlander 35mm OVF. I personally think that the Voigtlander is a better deal. It comes in black or silver, it is half the price of the Leica, all metal construction (instead of plastic like the Leica), has a brighter bright line and IMHO looks better on the X1 than the Leica. On the other hand, the Leica OVF has "LEICA" written on it. That may or may not sway you towards buying it. :-)
Holgersen Posted August 11, 2012 Share #4 Posted August 11, 2012 I use the Leica SBLOO 35 mm viewfinder which in my opinion looks better than the x1 vw model. It is a joy to use. I bought it at ebay. Before I used the Zeiss 432/5, which is smaller in size and also looks good on the camera. Of course the view of the SBLOO is much bigger and brighter. Anouk Posted August 11, 2012 Share #5 Posted August 11, 2012 I'm using my viewfinder from my DL4, which is a 24mm, but has a marking for 35mm too. It's slightly wide, but I can't justify buying a dedicated 36mm for the X1. I've seen used DL4 viewfinders being sold for as little as 100€. I think that's a steal. paul6001 Posted September 25, 2012 Share #8 Posted September 25, 2012 I've got a Voigtlander 28/35 mini. I got it at Camera Quest for $350. Nice finder and, most importantly to me, doesn't add much bulk to the X1. Size is the camera's raison d'etre.
