Guest guy_mancuso Posted March 13, 2007 Share #41 Â Posted March 13, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Richard sorry if i was a little hard on you there too, was not meant to be. But i know what your saying . The one thing when you get into the leica's is there actual work in many ways. Yes i would like to know what is coming also , i guess we all would. This stuff is a guessing game on what is next and what to do with your investments. I am sitting here debating the same things. but i did not see anything worth looking at from PMA. The OLy stuff looked pretty good though for a 4/3rds camera and they have a load of glass. Our issue is today we just can't send the film to the lab and let them do it, our poor souls has become the lab. It's not always fun either

Riley Posted March 14, 2007 Share #43 Â Posted March 14, 2007 seems like there wasnt a whole lot there really outside of the Sony prototypes Olys new bodies, with IS the new implementation of LiveView, and at last fast if not the fastest AF were pretty well the only big news around
Guest guy_mancuso Posted March 14, 2007 Share #44 Â Posted March 14, 2007 I spent some time at the Olympus booth looking at there high end glass and it was pretty nice. but honestly nothing out there that was to morgage the house over.

Guest guy_mancuso Posted March 14, 2007 Share #47 Â Posted March 14, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) I think my real options are stay with the M8 system i have now and actually add the 135 3.4 to it than have a MF system. The Pentax 645 looked pretty interesting
carstenw Posted March 14, 2007 Share #48 Â Posted March 14, 2007 The Pentax has looked pretty interesting for several years running now It doesn't have a removable back though, AFAIK, so you are locked in in every way.
Guest guy_mancuso Posted March 14, 2007 Share #49 Â Posted March 14, 2007 Yes that is somewhat the problem with any of the MF systems is you get locked in. The other 35mm that did look good was the Fuji S5 which of course is the Nikon D200 which I really liked when I had it but did not like the sensor but with Fuji in ther it maybe different but the ISO on it I hear is limited
carstenw Posted March 14, 2007 Share #50 Â Posted March 14, 2007 Give the S5 a good test run. I have heard good and bad. It is only a 6 (semi-12) MP sensor though, which is really not a lot today. Maybe it will give quality similar to a normal 10MP sensor, maybe not. Â The older Hasselblad models (V mainly, but up to H2) as well as the Rolleiflex 6008/Hy6 systems all are possible choices. Since you want a modern camera, I guess the V system is out, but don't forget that there are some brilliant lenses in that system, and the price of entry is low. Almost every digital back can be fitted to a Hasselblad V system. Have you seen Graham's Rolleiflex 6008 thread on FM?
Guest guy_mancuso Posted March 14, 2007 Share #51 Â Posted March 14, 2007 Carsten I can't read FM. But i also hear the Fuji is nice. But i want a Bigger MF camera sometimes. I just can't afford to make that move right now , i spent enough on the M8 system which started from scratch for me.
carstenw Posted March 14, 2007 Share #52 Â Posted March 14, 2007 Anyone can read FM... You just can't post. Here: Â Rollei 6008 + eMotion22 thread - FM Forums

carstenw Posted March 14, 2007 Share #54  Posted March 14, 2007 What??? Are you not on dial-up DSL or Cable? I'll send you a PDF of the thread. It is 3MB. On its way...  Would it work if you placed some other site in between, like a Google translation or something? Here is a trick that may work. Here is the link to a Google automatic Japanese-to-English translation of the page. This may look to FM like a Google address, not yours... Anything not recognised as Japanese is left in English, ie. all of it  Rollei 6008 + eMotion22 thread - FM Forums
