Does everyone that owns a leica own a dry box to keep it in???? I have one with all my Nikon gear in and was thinking of buying a second one for my Leica gear:)

I don't have a dry box, but I might if I lived in Malaysia.

 

Although my area is not regularly as hot and humid as Malaysia, I do try to keep one room of the house at low humidity, and store the wooden cameras and rarely used gear in it.

Do you have a picture of a wooden M?

 

@wolf-- there was a discussion a few months back about Pelican cases. Maybe search for that thread. You can use some models for transport as well as a dry storage area. I also use silica to get out humidity and then you just heat them up and reuse. Check the B&H site for descriptions.

In South East Asia you would be silly not to. A temperature controlled humidifier is essential. Otherwise you will quickly see fungus and mould within a few months. And your wonderful leather case will accelerate this process.
