chounws Posted July 19, 2012 Author Share #21  Posted July 19, 2012 Advertisement (gone after registration) You're probably aware that you need to correct for astigmatism before using the mag, either by your glasses (or contacts) or by using a Walter RX Eyepiece instead. Good luck reattaching the rubber ring if you desire; mine would never stay on once it came loose (without my intent to remove). I could have glued it myself, but considering the price I had Leica do it. But as I wrote earlier, I found the benefits of using the mag did not outweigh the negatives (loss of contrast and inconvenience of use with only one lens).  Jeff  For your concern, Jeff, I got the Walter Rx and it work fine for normal and wide lens but for 135mm or 90mm at the middle distance subject I still lost focus many pics. so I use 1.25x none leica but it poor not clear and limited the angle of view when using it the frame line hard to see, that the reason I go Leica mag' but again without diopter my visible got some blur. The only area that give me an headache is visibility, I try many already. It seem I found solution that on wide lens I need or no need anything, for precise focus or normal lens I need Walter Rx and for long lens I need this Mag' + diopter. The only wonder is what happen to my diopter and mag' that should fit well together. Whom got an good idea?

Jeff S Posted July 19, 2012 Share #22 Â Posted July 19, 2012 Well, since they're both Leica products, I suggest visiting a local Leica dealer to sort out the threading issue. If there's not one nearby, a call to Leica Service may suffice. Â Jeff
01af Posted July 19, 2012 Share #23  Posted July 19, 2012 ... what happen to my diopter and mag' that should fit well together. Who got a good idea? Umm ... in your second picture above it looks as if the magnifier's threads are blocked with some kind of filthy goo. Maybe you should prepare a cup of hot water with a tiny drop of dish-washing agent, stir gently, dip a cotton swab ('Q-tip' or similar) into that and then clean the threads.  Anyway—your magnifier and diopter lens look exactly like mine. They should connect to each other happily.

I will go back to the shop and check the other and let your guy know afterward. Regards to all, Choun
