leicarox Posted July 18, 2012 Share #1 Â Posted July 18, 2012 Advertisement (gone after registration) Love the EVF (this is the Olympus one) but sure wish it was smaller I'm not sure if the Oly VM3 would also work instead (since it's smaller) Â Unfortunately there is no lock button on the VF2. I may try to just zip-tie the VF2 on using a wide zip tie. Â The KIWI tube works, but it almost feels like the threads are a bit too loose of a fit when putting it on. (This worries me about thread damage when tightening) It also seems that it might loosen too easily by itself.

Maybe a small strip of teflon tape? It might aid in keeping out dust as well, but it could make it almost airtight. Not sure how that would affect air displacement when the lens retracts, etc.  Jeff

(This worries me about thread damage when tightening) It also seems that it might loosen too easily by itself. Â I just bought the KIWI tube for my X2 and didn't know whether or not I would like it. But for the money it is worth having in the bag. I find I do like it. I haven't noticed the looseness in the thread you describe; it feels just as solid as the original Leica bezel. I've fitted a Leica 46mm UV and am not using the hood, which adds a lot to bulk and I'm not sure it's necessary. Â I also got the Leica EVF2, more or less identical to the Olympus version. Since I already had a Leica 36mm bright line viewfinder I am now trying to work out which I prefer.
