vsanzbajo Posted July 17, 2012 Share #1 Posted July 17, 2012 Advertisement (gone after registration) What should I do? Should I CLA it? Or is it possible it is still good to go? My camera has this serial # 1094***. The camera looks new. It was made in 1964. Thanks in advance
Advertisement Posted July 17, 2012 Posted July 17, 2012 Hi vsanzbajo, Take a look here Just got a mint Leica M3 with the L seal intact, question.. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
madNbad Posted July 17, 2012 Share #2 Posted July 17, 2012 Run some fim through it. Make notes on the shutter speeds and once it's processed you can see if it needs any adjustment. All old cameras will eventually need a good CLA but the first test is to use it and see how it works.
Inspector Clouseau Posted July 18, 2012 Share #3 Posted July 18, 2012 Is the winding stroke smooth? Is there dust and debris in the view finder? Do the slow speeds all work .... 1,2,4,8,15,30 . These are some of the main issues that a CLA would fix. If you are happy with the above ... then take it for a test drive and if you like what you see, then you can maybe hold off for now on the CLA. Infinity and close range you can adjust yourself ... its fairly simple. You will want to check that before you run film through. Congrats
