nickma Posted July 15, 2012 Share #1 Â Posted July 15, 2012 Advertisement (gone after registration) I personally found the addition of a handgrip improved handling immeasurably on my X1. Â For those that don't have one yet, I saw this going at a very good price. I hasten to add it's nothing to do with me, just trying to help forumites... Advertisement Posted July 15, 2012 Posted July 15, 2012 Hi nickma, Take a look here handgrip X1/ X2. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
davidfung Posted July 16, 2012 Share #2 Â Posted July 16, 2012 Totally agree. For a little extra weight and bulk, it helps so much with good holding - both for taking photos and carrying around. I find it along with good technique, of using my nose to steady the top left of the camera, I can get much more consistent sharp shots with low shutter speeds. rich_ Posted July 16, 2012 Share #4 Â Posted July 16, 2012 Agree, a shame it adds the extra 10mm on the bottom but it's worth it
wda Posted July 16, 2012 Share #5 Â Posted July 16, 2012 What is 10mm to a camera packing such a punch? I, also, find the hand-grip indispensable.
davidfung Posted July 17, 2012 Share #6 Â Posted July 17, 2012 Real shame they don't make a nice leather case for the X1 or X2 with the grip. Except for the Leica ever ready case in grey... I only that case will fit the EVF or OVF mounted!

Works well but makes it a bit bulky, I use that without a camera bag and the EVF for more scenic shots. Without the case and OVF for out and about. Mixalis Posted July 20, 2012 Share #8 Â Posted July 20, 2012 I totally agree. I didn't buy a grip when I got the X2 but earlier this week I saw a grip AND a Leica bright line viewfinder sitting in a second-hand shop at an irresistable price. I had already bought an EVF but now rather like the dumb VF. Reminds me of my M9 VF but without the info. But, to return to grips, this does make an enormous difference to handling. I now regard it as a must.
