Leica X really is a digital Barnack

Lately, I have been working with two cameras at once. A Leica IIIF on a Gordy strap with 400 film and a Leica X1 with an Op-Tech finger cuff and A&A silk strap.

Please excuse the crappy P&S snap...

These cameras compliment each other amazingly well! I can shoot with the X1 while still holding the IIIF in my hand, note the exposure settings and adjust the IIIF if necessary, then shoot with the IIIF.

Imagine, shooting with a 1951 Leica compact camera simultaneously with a 2011 Leica compact!

I have not a IIIF but sometimes I use in the same time the m7 with an 100 iso film and a 35mm lens and the x1 for the photos which require higher iso. It's a good combination.

How is the thumb loop thingee work w/your x1?

The Op-Tech finger cuff has been on several of my cameras, including the IIIF, the M3 and an Oly XA2...

Been using it for a year now and it is the best $3.99 I have ever spent!

On the X1, I use it exclusively without the A&A strap when I just want to carry the camera in my pocket or in the Leica case. Between the finger cuff and the A&A half case, the camera is superbly easy to grip and use without even thinking about it. No need for a bulky grip.:)

As shown, when I use the A&A strap, I just leave it on the camera as it is hardly noticeable anyway and then I find myself using it and letting the strap just dangle.
