threeputt Posted July 6, 2012 Share #1 Â Posted July 6, 2012 Advertisement (gone after registration) Would love to hear some opinions on these. They're both beautiful, but there is quite a difference in price. I saw the video on the JNK Handworks website and it is indeed impressive. The Artisan & Artist is more affordable, but is it inferior? The stock photos of the A&A X1 half case I have come across look like it is a loose fit on the top rear corners of the camera. Any input and advice is appreciated. Â Jeff
Advertisement Posted July 6, 2012 Posted July 6, 2012 Hi threeputt, Take a look here X2 (or X1) Half-Case - JNK or A&A?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!

threeputt Posted July 10, 2012 Author Share #3 Â Posted July 10, 2012 Did you add any options? The tripod socket and the sewn in lump for added grip look good in photos. Â Jeff
rich_ Posted July 11, 2012 Share #4 Â Posted July 11, 2012 I'd love to get a decent half case that accepts the Grip here in HK. I saw an A&A one, but it was about $1900 dollars and had a purple inside :-/ Maybe I'll get it, not sure yet. Â Not many options out here
spylaw4 Posted July 11, 2012 Share #5 Â Posted July 11, 2012 I use the A&A 1/2 case + grip on the X2 - the tasteful shade of purple inside is not visible once the case is in place! Â The 1/2 case without grip is on the X1. Â The only downside is the lack of tripod socket, However I feel that is not that much of a problem. If you're going to take the time to set up a tripod, another minute to remove the case is neither here nor there.
rich_ Posted July 11, 2012 Share #6 Â Posted July 11, 2012 Thanks for the opinion! does it weather with time? I'm wondering if I'll like it more once it gets a bit battered!

But now I have it at home it looks and feels fantastic. I hope this helps with your decision making process!  Thanks Rich Welcome, dear visitor! For that reason I wouldn't buy it again, unless it's improved..I did buy it for my X1 originally..

rich_ Posted July 16, 2012 Share #10 Â Posted July 16, 2012 yeah that's kind of funny isn't it. :-) I use the case when I don't have my camera bag. when I do, I don't bother with the case as it's a bit bulky

Time to tape up the dot and Leica on the EVF..  I thought my A & A case was good but it falls off with a dirty look.

I have not seen one for the handgrip, etc. but the one I have could only be surpassed by Luigi's cases at twice the price.  When you come up to the Braves game in a couple of weeks you will get a chance to try it out! Avatar Posted July 17, 2012 Share #15 Â Posted July 17, 2012 I have that exact A&A case but the strap that snaps on to the grommet should be slightly shorter...it's just not tight at all on the side opposite the Red Dot. Â Now I really want a case that covers the dot and fits better. Â Can one of you guys start a business making these cases please? thank you.

All purchase and information is available on their website.  Leather case with an open slot of SD card & battery exchange, kind of user friendly.

Good luck with your choice for a replacement, and let us know what you decide.
