X2 (or X1) Half-Case - JNK or A&A?

Would love to hear some opinions on these. They're both beautiful, but there is quite a difference in price. I saw the video on the JNK Handworks website and it is indeed impressive. The Artisan & Artist is more affordable, but is it inferior? The stock photos of the A&A X1 half case I have come across look like it is a loose fit on the top rear corners of the camera. Any input and advice is appreciated.

JNK all the way.

Have it and love it!

I'd love to get a decent half case that accepts the Grip here in HK.

I saw an A&A one, but it was about $1900 dollars and had a purple inside :-/

Maybe I'll get it, not sure yet.

Not many options out here

I use the A&A 1/2 case + grip on the X2 - the tasteful shade of purple inside is not visible once the case is in place!

The 1/2 case without grip is on the X1.

The only downside is the lack of tripod socket, However I feel that is not that much of a problem. If you're going to take the time to set up a tripod, another minute to remove the case is neither here nor there.

I bought the A&A case. In the shop it wasn't taking my fancy. But now I have it at home it looks and feels fantastic. I hope this helps with your decision making process!

Thanks

I have an Artisan and Artist case for my X2 and it's great but you are exactly right. It's a very loose fit ... For that reason I wouldn't buy it again, unless it's improved..I did buy it for my X1 originally..

A cut out for the Red Dot? Wow...that would be embarrassing for me...I'm embarrassed even now just seeing that.. haha...:p

yeah that's kind of funny isn't it. :-) I use the case when I don't have my camera bag. when I do, I don't bother with the case as it's a bit bulky

Sorry if I insulted your case but I looked at mine and just about all others and clearly they are cut in such a way as to make sure not to cover the Red Dot....I don't want to sound like a reverse elitist but I never really thought about red dots and all that until much after owning a Leica...To those who know what we have, they simply know... Time to tape up the dot and Leica on the EVF..

I thought my A & A case was good but it falls off with a dirty look.

Hi, Jeff...

I have the A&A half case on the X1. It is not loose and is very classy and grippable. I highly recommend it and it wears very well. I have not seen one for the handgrip, etc. but the one I have could only be surpassed by Luigi's cases at twice the price.;)

When you come up to the Braves game in a couple of weeks you will get a chance to try it out!:)

I have that exact A&A case but the strap that snaps on to the grommet should be slightly shorter...it's just not tight at all on the side opposite the Red Dot.

Now I really want a case that covers the dot and fits better.

Can one of you guys start a business making these cases please? thank you. :p

Hello, you may consider to get one from KAZA , they have a vintage leather case set. All purchase and information is available on their website.

Leather case with an open slot of SD card & battery exchange, kind of user friendly.

If you are talking about the A&A case I have shown above, then, your experience is weird as my case is very tight on my X1.... Good luck with your choice for a replacement, and let us know what you decide.
