s38 Posted July 4, 2012 Share #1 Â Posted July 4, 2012 Advertisement (gone after registration) I have followed the recommended charge-discharge procedure from the X2 manual book. Since the first charge, the battery has progressively performed worst. I was able to get around 350 shots the very first time I charged it. I let it drain completely and after fully recharging it, it only took around 150 photos before it died. The third time was even worst, I only got 70-80 shots... Â Is that normal, or should I be contacting Leica and requesting a replacement? Â Thank you!

Avatar Posted July 4, 2012 Share #2 Â Posted July 4, 2012 That doesn't sound right..not sure what settings you have but still that can't be right. Â Do you plan on having more than one battery anyway? If so, I'd buy another and try it while I determined what and if there is a problem with the camera. So far, I haven't had any problems with it.

So far, I haven't had any problems with it.  Of course I can't know, if I had to guess I would suspect the battery first. I know they are expensive but I can't imagine owning an X2, especially with an EVF without a second battery. Actually are you using an EVF? Either way, something is not working right..Obviously.. I suppose I would run down the battery and charge it again and see if that helps. Good luck!

brill64 Posted July 5, 2012 Share #6 Â Posted July 5, 2012 check your powersave settings? set it to power off, etc..after a short duration of non-use. are you using a bag/pouch/coat ocket to store it in? are you leaving the x2 switched on overnight? check the camera is switched off before putting away or not being left with the shutter release accidentally pressed. is your charger showing green before pulling the battery out? s38 Posted July 5, 2012 Author Share #7  Posted July 5, 2012 Advertisement (gone after registration) As I said, factory settings, and I always turn off the camera when I am not using it.  I have the EVF but haven't used it much.  Btw, how long is this battery suppose to last, or what's the average number of shots one can  take with it? Spaniard69 Posted July 5, 2012 Share #8 Â Posted July 5, 2012 I have the EVF but my battery didn't drain much. I believe your battery is leaking power or rather can't hold charge. Get a new battery.

spylaw4 Posted July 5, 2012 Share #10 Â Posted July 5, 2012 I would inform your dealer asap. That puts the dealer on notice that you have a suspected faulty battery, while you test it against another battery. No improvement = change for new one, which should be done without question.
