symmetron Posted June 30, 2012 Share #1 Â Posted June 30, 2012 Advertisement (gone after registration) How significant is battery power consumption difference between leaving the power on for 10 minutes versus say 2 or 5 minutes? Just curious as I hate "waking" the camera up when set for 2 minutes. I'd prefer to leave it on permanently, but there's no setting for that.

stark60 Posted June 30, 2012 Share #2 Â Posted June 30, 2012 Don't forget that the diaph is adjusted in real time (in auto mode) event if you don't press the shutter release button. That may cause driving motor or other parts accelerated wear.
symmetron Posted July 1, 2012 Author Share #3 Â Posted July 1, 2012 Not sure what you're saying, but it sounds as though as long as the camera power is on, the drive motor and diaphragm are constantly adjusting. Is that true?
stark60 Posted July 2, 2012 Share #4  Posted July 2, 2012 Yes VETTRAN, it works like this on the X2 and I’m almost sure it’s the same on the X1.   This is interesting for example : outdoors on a sunny day you set speed at 1/250, ISO 100, auto diaph, manual focus at 30m (you are sure everything is in focus from 15m to infinity using a circle of confusion of 0,007 and you cover from EV 11 to EV 16) and you can point and shot quickly. You can switch off then switch on the camera and the settings are kept (on the X2).
